Improved Off-Campus Access to Electronic Resources

For the past few years, we have provided you access to our research databases and electronic resources through the Library's web site using two access links: one for on-campus and one for off-campus. During Christmas Break, we will be making an improvement to the way you access our databases and electronic resources. We will be updating the Library's web site with new links that can tell if you are trying to access the resource on or off campus.

You will now begin to see a single link to use to access databases. If you are using a computer on-campus, you should not notice any difference. You will be automatically connected to the database/resource. If you are off-campus, you will be redirected to the OPAL/Muskingum College Database Remote Authentication page. Enter your last name and 14 digit bar code number (from the back of your Muskingum ID) and click on Submit to gain access to the desired database/resource.

There will be a few databases/resources that will still require you to use the OhioLINK Authentication Server for awhile. For these electronic resources, you will continue to see second "off-campus" link located next to the name of the resource. Click on the "off-campus "link, select Muskingum from the drop down list, enter your full name and 14 digit bar code number to gain access.
