OhioLINK requesting and keyword searching unavailable

10 a.m. Saturday update: Keyword searching in the OhioLINK Catalog has been fixed.

9:03 a.m Friday update: OhioLINK requesting has been fixed. Keyword searching is still not working.

Two unforeseen problems have developed from yesterday's upgrade to the OhioLINK Catalog. Keyword searching and the ability to request books from other libraries are currently not working. OhioLINK is working with the software vendor to fix these problems. Hopefully both features will be fixed by the end of the day.

You can still use the OPAL Catalog to find and request books from other OPAL libraries. Please contact Andrew Whitis if you have any questions.

Muskingum Catalog has a new look and improved features

The library's catalog has been updated with some improved features that will help you when you are searching for books and more.

Search improvements

  • Choose a tab based on the type of search you are doing. If you know the title or author use one of those tabs. Otherwise begin with keyword. The ISBN search can be found on the More Options tab.
  • Select the My Accounts tab to renew books or see what you have checked out.
  • Select limits by date, type, or language to fine-tune your results. This is optional.
  • You can also limit to items not checked out. Remember, this will exclude electronic books and will show reference books in your results.

Results improvements:

  • Only see items available
  • Re-sort results after searching
  • Request items or add them to list to print or email
  • Quickly see shelving location, call number, and status (if it is available to be checked out or if it is already checked out)
Contact Andrew Whitis or Kate Wenger if you have questions about these changes.
