Author Talk on Thursday, April 21 at 3:30 p.m.

Five students from Dr. Varley’s Advanced Poetry Class will read and discuss their poetry during our last author talk of the semester. There will be a free copy of the new issue of First Circle for all in attendance. Our presentation will be framed by Dr. Varley's comments on the "Writing Life". She will have her students respond specifically to this idea. Also featured will be the First Circle editors, Samantha Sibert, Angela Lewis, and Casey Forgrave. They will read some of their work, and then describe the process of making the magazine-- soliciting submissions, selecting work, laying out the manuscript, the relationship with the printer; everything needed to get this poetry collection into the hands of readers. Refreshments will be available. Thanks to all who have attended the author talks this past year. Your participation has made each one a success. We will be continuing our talks in the fall. We already have two exciting authors lined up. Have a great summer and see you in September!
